Garment Description

The Maeve Celtic Dress is an elegant medieval inspired green Celtic formal dress designed for women who are drawn to heritage, symbolism, and graceful statement dressing. Inspired by our Celtic bridal collection, this full-length design transforms ceremonial influence into a wearable piece for special occasions, celebrations, and elevated everyday folklore style.

Crafted in rich deep green cotton slub, the Maeve has a breathable natural feel similar to linen with a soft structure that gives the dress beautiful movement and presence. The green Celtic maxi dress has a flattering fit, deep V neckline, shaped bodice, and flowing skirt that skims the body with ease. The dramatic slit and bell sleeves bring a romantic, expressive quality, making this elegant olive green folklore dress perfect for all kinds of parties and events or even as an alternative green handfasting dress. A band of intricate Celtic knot embroidery defines the waist and adds a meaningful detail embeded in ancient Irish design.

The Maeve Celtic Dress is ideal for those searching for a green handfasting dress, Celtic goddess dress style, or pagan wedding guest dress, but it also works beautifully for bridesmaids, formal gatherings, outdoor ceremonies, and special seasonal events. Elegant, grounded, and full of character, it is a dress designed to feel memorable without losing comfort or wearability.

Fabric and Textiles

🧷 We source all fabrics personally and seek the highest quality traditional style fabrics possible. We do our best to source the most natural, hand spun and traditionally woven textiles. Care Instructions: Hand wash or machine wash at a handwash or delicate setting in cool water, wash with similar colours and line dry out of direct sunlight.

🧵This has been designed by the designer and founder of Celtic Fusion; Regina Tierney. Her inspiration comes from her home place in County Clare in the West of Ireland where the Celtic Fusion Studio is based. Celtic Fusion was designed to create a connection to nature through unique clothing. The designs are inspired by Celtic spirituality and ancient paganism - beliefs centered around the natural world and the cycle of life. So, naturally, sustainability and ethics are a top priority in the construction of the clothing you purchase. We hope to create a new standard for the impact of fashion with our choice of fabrics, construction processes, and positive work practices. Our production would not be possible without our skilled team in India where Irish designer Regina Tierney works for 3 months of each year over-seeing our entire work process and production in every element to create our ethical designs.

Design Inspiration

🍀 Anam – The Summer Solstice Collection

Rooted in Irish heritage and crafted since 2015, our Anam collection honours the Summer Solstice, a time of light, growth, and connection. Inspired by the wild spirit of the West of Ireland, each piece is made from breathable natural textiles and designed for movement, layering, and soulful expression. Anam, meaning soul in Irish, invites you to celebrate nature, tradition, and the radiant warmth of summer.

Celtic knotwork is always cyclical and never-ending. In this way, we have chosen to use Celtic knotwork in our designs as a symbol for the endurance of the ancient culture where they originated. Through our designs, we hope to help continue the ideas that Celtic culture symbolises. Using knotwork not only helps to keep that ancient form of art alive, but also continues the never-ending cycle of inspiration.

Care Instruction

Cotton Slub and Handwoven Cotton Care Instructions

Our cotton fabrics are natural, breathable with a soft textured finish. Machine wash gently at 20°C or hand wash in cool water using a mild / natural detergent. Wash with similar colours and reshape while damp. Hang or lay flat to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry, as this may cause shrinkage and wear to the fibres. Line dry only out of direct sunlight. Iron on a medium setting.
