Claddagh Dress

The Claddagh Sage Green/Black Embroidered Dress takes one of Ireland’s most recognisable symbols and reimagines it through clothing. Traditionally seen in the Claddagh ring, the design of hands, heart and crown represents friendship, love and loyalty. Here, that familiar Irish motif is woven into delicate botanical folk artwork to create a softer, contemporary interpretation.

Made from breathable 180gsm cotton slub, this folklore-inspired knee length dress features a gently shaped round neckline, a square back and an elasticated shirring panel for added flexibility and comfort through the bodice. The wide sleeves gather softly at the elbow and are finished with embroidered Celtic knotwork and botanical detailing, secured with a small button.

The waist embroidery brings together flowing folk botanicals with the Claddagh motif, creating a distinctive focal point without overwhelming the simplicity of the silhouette. A full A-line skirt which is cotton lined adds movement, while practical pockets make the dress easy to wear every day.

🧷 We source all fabrics personally and seek the highest quality traditional style fabrics possible. We do our best to source the most natural, hand spun and traditionally woven textiles. Care Instructions: Hand wash or machine wash at a handwash or delicate setting in cool water, wash with similar colours and line dry out of direct sunlight.

🧵This has been designed by the designer and founder of Celtic Fusion; Regina Tierney. Her inspiration comes from her home place in County Clare in the West of Ireland where the Celtic Fusion Studio is based. Celtic Fusion was designed to create a connection to nature through unique clothing. The designs are inspired by Celtic spirituality and ancient paganism - beliefs centered around the natural world and the cycle of life. So, naturally, sustainability and ethics are a top priority in the construction of the clothing you purchase. We hope to create a new standard for the impact of fashion with our choice of fabrics, construction processes, and positive work practices. Our production would not be possible without our skilled team in India where Irish designer Regina Tierney works for 3 months of each year over-seeing our entire work process and production in every element to create our ethical designs.

Inspired by the west of Ireland, the collection draws on dúchas, that deep sense of connection to the land, culture, people and landscape we come from.

Our designs draw from wild nature, traditional craft and the old stories of the land, bringing these influences into clothing that feels expressive, contemporary and made to be worn.

Natural textures, earthy colour, Celtic-inspired detailing and folk styles run throughout our collections, reflecting a strong sense of place. Each piece is created for those who value individuality, craftsmanship and a meaningful connection to the landscapes and stories that continue to inspire us.

Cotton Slub and Handwoven Cotton Care Instructions

Our cotton fabrics are natural, breathable with a soft textured finish. Machine wash gently at 20°C or hand wash in cool water using a mild / natural detergent. Wash with similar colours and reshape while damp. Hang or lay flat to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry, as this may cause shrinkage and wear to the fibres. Line dry only out of direct sunlight. Iron on a medium setting.
